There are hundreds of leadership coaches, what makes you unique?
There are hundreds of leadership coaches, what makes you unique? That was the question I was asked from a fellow global coach. Holy moly, what a powerful question. So, who am I and what makes me unique? I am no Tony Robbins, Rich Litvin, Marshall Goldsmith, Jay Shetty, or John Maxwell for that matter.
Where should I start? I have taken several assessments during my career that provided self-awareness into such things as behaviors, motivators, strengths, and personality type. Does ENTP, Analyst, Blue or ParrotOwlEagle make me unique?
What about my values, beliefs, and experiences? Do these make me unique?
What if I placed my values, beliefs, experience, motivations, strengths, and all the aspects of my various personality types in a mixing bowl? There may even be a few other things I am overlooking right now that need to go into the mixture. Staring back at me would be a unique creation that contains the answer to the question that was put forward. In other words, that’s me.
Now how can I describe my coaching uniqueness into words?
I am a global coach that believes in people feeling safe and comfortable to be themselves, being open about what makes them special and distinct as individuals. I am the “guide on the side” for global diverse leaders and teams as they explore how their different experiences bring different perspectives to the surface. Together they “feed and water” their strengths, drives and motivations to grow people and business together.
Now it’s your turn. Take your values, beliefs, experience, motivations, strengths, and all the aspects of your various personality types in a mixing bowl. How would you describe your uniqueness?
I will leave you with this:
“I am glad to be what I am. Thank goodness I'm not a ham, or a clam, or a dusty old jar of gooseberry jam. I am what I am, what a great thing to be. If I say so myself, happy everyday to me!”- Dr. Seuss.
Enjoy your journey.
Grow your business and people together.
